Mamoru Nishi Fund

Dear JCCC Supporter,

Mamoru Nishi was a man of vision. As founding President of the Toronto Japanese Garden Club, he embodied its motto ' for the betterment of the community through the advancement of Japanese culture and art'.

As a member of the community, you and many others are beneficiaries of his drive and determination in the sharing of culture. A brief biography of his accomplishments is enclosed.

To perpetuate Mamoru Nishi's memory and ensure the continuation of cultural activities, the Toronto Japanese Garden Club has established a fund through the JCCC Foundation. A wisteria trellis and bench have been put in place in the south garden of the Kobayashi Hall to serve as a tribute to Mamoru Nishi's legacy. A dedication ceremony will be taking place at the JCCC on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at 11 A.M. We hope that you will be able to attend the event to recognize Mamoru Nishi's contribution to the Toronto Japanese Garden Club and the community. Please call JCCC reception at 416-441-2345 to confirm your attendance.

We ask for your financial support to the Mamoru Nishi Fund at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre. A charitable tax receipt will be issued for any gift over $20. With your gift, the Toronto Japanese Garden Club will be able to share Mamoru Nishi's vision and passion for Japanese culture with future generations and the community at large.

Best Wishes,

Toshi Oikawa, President, Toronto Japanese Garden Club
